What am I responsible for?

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of Motor Trade Sales Executives to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop and implement strategic plans for the motor trade sales team.
  • Identify new opportunities and areas for growth within the motor trade sector.
  • Set ambitious but achievable sales targets for the team, aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor individual and team performance against targets, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Provide ongoing training to enhance the product knowledge and sales skills of team members.
  • Identify and address skill gaps through targeted training programs.
  • Support team members in building and maintaining strong relationships with key motor trade clients.
  • Assist in addressing escalated client issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse sales data and prepare regular reports on team performance, achievements, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide input on product enhancements based on client feedback and market trends.
  • Ensure that all sales processes and documentation comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions affecting the motor trade insurance sector.
  • Use market intelligence to refine sales strategies.

What would the ideal candidate bring?

  • Minimum 2yrs experience working in insurance as a manager or similar role.
  • Is highly motivated and sales driven.
  • Genuine desire to want to improve team and leads by example.
  • Great people skills, can build strong relationships with sales team and both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills, confident in using systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Experienced in writing Motor Trade and Commercial insurance products.
  • Attention to detail and has previously presented/created risk presentations for internal/external customers.
  • Firm understanding of FCA regulations imposed on Insurance Intermediaries.
  • The desire to develop and is CII Certified or working towards.
