What am I responsible for?

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their insurance needs and providing excellent customer service.
  • Implement up/cross-selling strategies in order to expand the initial account book
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients and address inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Handle the day-to-day administration of commercial insurance policies, including issuing endorsements, processing renewals, and managing policy documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of policy documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their risk exposures and insurance needs.
  • Work with underwriters to design comprehensive insurance programs that meet client requirements.
  • Liaise with underwriters and insurers to obtain competitive quotes and coverage terms for clients.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve the best possible coverage for clients.
  • Provide risk management advice to clients, including recommendations for loss prevention and mitigation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulations affecting commercial clients.
  • Manage the renewal process for assigned clients, ensuring timely renewal quotes and proactive communication.
  • Implement strategies to enhance client retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional insurance products or coverages to existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to maximize revenue from existing accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in all client interactions and documentation.
  • Assist clients in the claims process, including reporting and follow-up on claims.
  • Collaborate with claims specialists to ensure timely and fair claims resolution.

What would the ideal candidate bring?

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working in insurance as a commercial account manager or similar role.
  • Is highly motivated and sales driven.
  • Genuine desire to improve the team and lead by example.
  • Great people skills can build strong relationships with the sales team and both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills, confident in using systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experienced in working with Commercial insurance products.
  • Attention to detail and has previously presented/created risk presentations for internal/external customers.
  • Firm understanding of FCA regulations imposed on Insurance Intermediaries.
  • Looking to build up an impressive book of contacts
